👋 Hello everyone, stopping by first to encourage you to buy Sarah’s Creative Ecosystem book. It’s beautiful in design and content.
Secondly, I so appreciate this retreat overview you’ve put together for us. SAVED for later! I have pondering on a creative retreat for six months and life keeps getting in the way but I’m now wondering if there is a little hotel that would accommodate my needs more locally, or just far enough for my brain to turn off the chore list.
Everyone keeps asking what will be next for a series for Motherhood Minute and I have no idea. There are no grand plans. But I really want time to rest and then write my book again. It’s never had proper time for thinking about, despite how I think of writing it daily. Room is needed.
These are great ideas - I love those creativity workbooks 😍 so colorful and inspiring. I also love the permission to overpack. lol. I organized a new moon art night last summer with some friends, but now I’m wondering if I need to extend it to an entire weekend?? Thanks for sharing.
This is so wonderful and inspiring. I've been thinking about looking at local writing retreats, but I'm often quickly priced out. It's so freeing to think about all I can accomplish on my own terms in my own creative ecosystem! (Love that phrasing.)
Group retreats are so expensive! 😣 But there’s a lot of scope to do something self directed. The creative ecosystem metaphor has been so helpful for me in seeing the creativity beyond its output. I’m glad it resonates. ☺️
Thank you so much for sharing your process. I love the prompts for considering what our creative ecosystems really need. Mine definitely requires more quiet and solitude than I'm currently getting😅
Oh I love this guide, thank you! I like to create at-home versions of creative retreats for myself - this is inspiring me to plan another one. I’d love to go somewhere else for one someday. I just bought your book, it sounds wonderful and I’m excited to dive in! Also, I love the Parent Trap vibes 😍
As an update, I decided with my health right now I would rather take this retreat with my husband. I arranged for my parents to care for our daughter. We plan on staying in an isolated airbnb by the water and we will spend time together in meals and during breaks. I asked him for a writing retreat with his company. We are excited.
I have a retreat planned for next month and a post about past ones planned for next week (of course, now I feel like everyone is writing about retreats and that it's a more fraught topic than I thought, lol, but I'm still going to do it because it was an easy thing to do while I prep madly for said retreat. Haha!) I think I've done 3 alone and 2 with my cousin who is also a writer--this one will be with her, too. These are great tips!

Aww, thank you. You’re making my morning Chanel. 🥰
Yes, room is needed! I am cheering you on to make it happen. 💫

Oh that’s sounds like a fabulous place to be.
It was! 🥰
Petit Jean is an amazing place for a solo creative retreat! I’ve been wanting to do one there for quite some time now.
10/10 would recommend. Don’t miss the Bear Cave Trail. Stunning rock formations starting right off the car park.
I love everything about this. Thanks for the generosity of sharing your practice with us.
Thank you Marina. 🥰
i am actually going on a solo writing retreat next week and this has been super helpful, thanks sarah!

Right? This sensitive introvert is socially maxed out on a daily basis. 😂
