You submitted 100 times and got accepted 100 times? That's incredible. Submitting is the hardest thing for me. I usually submit to literary magazines, but your post is making me think I should cast a wider net and try to submit to other things.

I didn’t make it to 100! I got 11

out of 11 so far. At this rate it will take 10 years to reach 100, but I’m not in a rush about it. 😂

Yes, a wider net! There are lots of different kinds of opportunities around.

Thank you so much for this Sarah. I felt seen by your experience of submissions mattering so much that you only do a few. It’s an incredible challenge to just throw yourself out there without hanging all our hopes on *one* thing. Kind of a “why the hell not?!” attitude, which I’d more of in my life.

Yes, this was the shift! I was rejecting myself before I even gave others the chance to do so. Cheering you on Sara. 🥳

I tried to do the 100 submissions thing once! I didn't make it and I can't remember if it was a year that anything was accepted or not lol. Now I'm only submitting to myself lol but eventually I might try it again! I just don't have enough work ready or nearly ready and not already promised to myself haha.

It’s going to take ages to finish, but it’s been an interesting challenge. I don’t know how folks do it in a certain timeframe.
