Spotlighting Neurodivergent Creators
Letter from the Editor,
Hi folks. I’ve recently been diagnosed with several chronic health conditions and my doctor has advised minimizing stress. I’ve decided to pause the curated publication and post intermittent updates spotlighting neurodivergent creators and projects.
With all that’s going on in the world I want to do what I can, but without driving myself into the ground. I know this project has been a series of pivots, but having some answers about my health has really validated the choices I’ve made here.
I am still taking submissions for this collab. If you have 15 minutes to spare please check it out! And share with your neurospicy friends. I need lots more submissions to bring the vision to life.
If you’re interested in being a guest curator please reach out. Meanwhile I hope to use this platform to help connect neurodivergent artists and neurotypical allies. 🖤
(they/them)P.S. If you’d like to submit a project or post for the next issue you can send it to magpie@sarahshotts.com. Please remember the Code of Conduct for Neurokind and do not send content requiring trigger warnings. All content (words and images) must be human made and not AI.
From Burnout to Balance 🌀
I wish I’d had this post by

A podcast update from
and an update on our picture book about neurodivergence, How it Feels to Me.Spectrum 🌈
Since February I’ve been working on this zine visualizing neurodivergence as a watercolor spectrum. You can read the blog version here.
I’ve also brushed off all my educational posts about autism, neurodivergence, and sensory processing and created a Neurodiversity Affirming Resource Library.
That’s all for now!
Remember you can submit posts and work for the next issue to magpie@sarahshotts.com. I’ll be posting updates every few months as I have capacity.
